Bio

Rob Yamanoha

With inviting vocals, intimate lyrical styling, and a soulful groove, Rob Yamanoha draws a musical canvas inspired by classic soul and R&B, smooth jazz, and 70’s soft rock.    In a style heavily influenced by the legendary island music band Kalapana, his music is as easy as breathing to embrace and he is unequivocally cementing himself in the Hawaii music scene as both artist and producer.

As a founding member of the local party band Moemoea in the early-2000’s, Rob honed his songwriting skills and musical chops while preparing to launch his own record label.  In 2005 he created Red Moon Entertainment and released his first solo CD (titled “Better”) in 2007, which went on to receive a Hawaii Music Award in 2008 (Best Adult Contemporary Album) and it’s hit single “Waialua Sky” has become an island radio classic.  Rob toured extensively throughout the Hawaiian Islands as well as the U.S. west coast in the following years, and upon returning home took on the producer/engineer role to produce one album with the R&B band the 4Fathers, and one traditional Hawaiian album with the local band Kuahiwis.

Currently Rob is working with two more up and coming artists in the studio, and will be releasing his sophomore CD on Valentine’s Day 2012.  In anticipation of his new CD, Red Moon released the first single titled “When the Sun” in October 2011 (available on iTunes), and has already received heavy airplay on island music stations.  The new CD will feature 10 new songs written, produced and arranged by Rob Yamanoha.
